Barclay Butera Debuts New Art Collection at Fall 2009 High Point

For Immediate Release~

Famed lifestyle designer Barclay Butera is thrilled to announce the introduction of his exciting new wall art collaboration with Wendover Art at this fall's High Point Market! Capitalizing on his current lifestyle collections showcased in his own book, Living In Style, Butera will be showcasing artwork that has been designed for his City-inspired Gramercy Park Collection.

The cool, transitional pieces will be the perfect accoutrement to enhance his own space (Barclay Butera Home- IHFC-102) known for its grand luxury furnishings, textiles, and uber-fab layered merchandising. Collaborator and partner, Wendover Art, will also showcase his new line just a hop~ skip away at IHFC-C215, including a showcase window and stand-alone merchandised area that is vintage Butera!

Barclay's own Los Angeles Pied a Terre served as inspiration for this serene collection; a perfectly balanced reflection of his lifestyle rigueur du jour. Most widely recognized for his signature rich, traditional offerings, Butera has been called upon to create a slightly edgier, contemporary look as of late. Butera and Wendover have ensured this latest collection of art is as comprehensive as it is enticingly beautiful. Designs are reminiscent of a collection owned by a well-traveled international jet-set couple who have carefully curated their art holdings from scouring markets and galleries around the world. Wendover's diverse and extensive production capabilities allowed Butera to offer a tremendous range with this launch collection. Soft washes within a myriad of water-colors for city scenes, vintage maps, sepia-toned botanicals on parchment and delicious landscapes are just a few of the examples of the art work at hand.

True to form and by request, Butera made sure there were plenty of 4 and 6 set options offered to retailers that cater not only to the sophisticated design community, but to the end consumer looking for the perfect attainable purchase as well. And since the unveiling of the iconic L' Auberge Hotel in historic Del Mar California (http://www.laubergedelmar.com/), for which Butera served as Creative Director, hospitality has become a priority in the product development arena as well.

"Partnering with Wendover Art was one of the simplest and smartest business decisions we have ever made," notes Butera. "This company expressed the desire for a true design collaboration and a no-nonsense sensibility in getting product to market. Every aspect of development has been seamless and I really think this shines through in the end result. They also know better than anyone how to manufacture a designer’s vision, servicing both retailers and hospitality markets in tandem."

While fall market 2009 marks the launch of the City collection, future plans for Town & Country, Beach, Mountain and Desert are already in the works!
